Every referral tracked from introduction to invoice
Partners refer leads with your form, a tracked link or a quick-refer page, or register the deals they are working. Your team approves, works the deal in your CRM, and the commission follows automatically.
Referrals fall through the cracks when they arrive by email
A referral in an inbox has no status, no owner and no record of what the partner was promised. When it closes months later, someone has to remember who sent it, look up the rate, and work out what was paid.
Partner.io records who referred what and when, attributes every lead to a partner and rep, keeps a timeline of each change, and turns recorded revenue into commission without a spreadsheet.
Leads. Every referral with its status, deal value and commission, synced to your CRM.

Six ways a lead reaches you, one record for each
- ChannelReferral form
- How it worksA rep refers a lead from the portal, from a quick-refer page that needs no login, or through the Register & Refer widget on your site. One form, composed by you, used everywhere.
- ChannelReferral links
- How it worksEach rep gets a unique tracked version of every referral link you create. Install the tracking script and signups are attributed to the partner automatically, with clicks, leads, revenue and revenue per click reported.
- ChannelDeal registration
- How it worksReps register deals they are working, with value, currency, expected close date and contact. When a deal closes it becomes a won or lost lead and syncs to your CRM.
- ChannelYour team
- How it worksAdd a lead by hand, import a list, or use the Slack command that opens your referral form as a modal.
- ChannelIntegrations
- How it worksA Shopify app install matched to a referred store, a paid Stripe invoice tied to a promo code, or a lead synced in from your CRM.
- ChannelInbound email and API
- How it worksForward a referral email and Partner.io extracts the lead. Or create and update leads through the REST API.
What your team does, and what happens automatically
- [01]A referral arrives as PendingYour team is notified in-app, by email and in Slack. Lead auto-approval can approve referrals that match conditions on the form answers or the referring partner, and it records every run, including the ones left for review.
- [02]Approve and syncApprove from the list or the lead page. If a CRM is connected and lead sync is on, the lead becomes a HubSpot, Pipedrive or Salesforce record with the partner and rep attached, owned by round-robin, the partner manager or a person you choose. Where contact sync is enabled, new leads can also sync as CRM contacts, with partner and rep association labels on HubSpot.
- [03]Work the deal where you already doStage, deal value, products and notes flow back from the CRM. The partner sees the deal tracker and can message you on the lead from their portal. Files can be attached either side.
- [04]Record revenueRevenue arrives from paid Stripe invoices, Shopify payments, recurring revenue plans or a manual entry. Each payment triggers the commission perks on the partner's tier.
- [05]Close and payMark the lead Won and the closed date is stamped. Commissions created along the way move through approval, invoicing and payout.
A lead is always in exactly one of six statuses
- StatusPending
- What it meansA new referral waiting for your review. Approve it to start working the deal, or reject it. Auto-approval can do this for referrals matching your conditions.
- StatusApproved
- What it meansYou have accepted the referral and are working it. Commission accrues as revenue is recorded. Lead approved perks fire here.
- StatusRejected
- What it meansThe referral was declined. It earns the partner nothing.
- StatusWon
- What it meansThe deal closed. The closed date is stamped and the partner earns commission on revenue recorded against the lead.
- StatusLost
- What it meansThe deal did not close, so no commission is owed.
- StatusChurned
- What it meansA customer you had won has since left.
See deals while your partners are still working them. A lead is a referral your team works. A deal is an opportunity the partner works and keeps you posted on.
Reps register deals from the portal with a value, currency and expected close date, then move them through six stages on a board.
Deal registration. Partners register deals they are working and drag them through six stages. Closed deals become leads in your CRM.
- Closed stages are one-way: a closed deal can be swapped between Won and Lost but never reopened
- Your team edits the name, value and close date and messages the rep on the deal
- On close, Partner.io creates a won or lost lead attributed to the rep and syncs it to your CRM
- Your team is notified when a deal is registered, won, lost or updated
Send leads the other way, too. When you know a partner is the right fit for a prospect, refer the lead to them.
The partner accepts or declines from their portal, and the conversation stays on the introduction so co-sell motions have a record.

- Contact requests from your public partner directory arrive the same way
Synced to your CRM, partner attached.
A lead becomes a HubSpot, Pipedrive or Salesforce record with the partner on it. Status comes back the other way once it is synced.
Deals partners work themselves.
Deal registration with six stages on a board, so resellers can move an opportunity along and you can see it coming.
“We're not just seeing more referrals, we're seeing better ones. The quality, the consistency, the visibility. It's all gone up since we moved to Partner.io.”
